my speech about sloths

Hi my name is Taylor. Today I am going talk to you about sloths. I am going to tell you about they are, what they look like, what they eat and where they live. I will also tell you some facts about them.

First I’m going to tell you about what sloths are. Sloths are a mammal.  They have long legs and chocolate colourd fur on their backs and on the front there is white.

What do sloths look like? Sloths look very funny but they are very very talanted mammals. They have a lot of fur on their body. Sloths have small heads and big eyes. Sloths have a big black nose, they all have diffrent coloured eyes but you can not see the colour. Sloths can weigh up to 40 pounds and they can grow to 50-60 centimetres long.

What do sloths eat? Sloths eat dry food like leaves, bud bugs, twigs, dried fruit and insects. They eat a lot and a lot of food. Sloths hunt for their own food, they do not wait for food to come to them.

Where do sloths live? Sloths are related to ant eaters and pydmuesis, only found on one small island on the coast of Panama in South America. They would be surrounded by the island. Sloths also  live in jungles and rainforests. They like trees with branches on it and they love sleeping on trees. Sloths also roamed North America and became extinct around 10,000 years ago.

Now I’m going to share some interesting facts about sloths with you. Did you know that sloths only poop once a week? Sloths are also great swimmers. They can live up to 40 years old. Sloths also spent most of their day sleeping and eating. Sloths have a green algae growing on them that helps them camouflage in the trees.

Now that I’ve told you all about sloths, I hope you learned something new. Thank you for listening.

Clock tower writing

One day there were two happy people living in a big long stalky clock tower house with balloons going in to the sky. The girl was having a lovely time dancing in the Clocktower. Suddenly there was a random witch that came out of nowhere. "AHHH!!!!" she yelled out. "A witch a witch is trying to curse me come and help me please quickly quickly before she starts to curse me more and more.  Some stranger came and knocked on the door and kept knocking after 19 minutes the stranger got so frustrated  that he kicked the door down and sprinted up the creaky stairs he wanted to be like a spy.
The stranger  wanted to creep up the stairs and see what was going on in the clocktower he saw the witch trying to curse the little girl so the stranger sneaks up to the witch and grabs its neck and flips the witch over out the window and said to the little girl are you all right is anything hurting the stranger said the little girl said my Arma no leg feel really sore and I can not move my arm or leg.
The stranger helped the little girl up and carried her down to the car and took the little girl to hospital and the stranger ask do you live any one she said no I don't . The stranger said would you like to live with me. So the little girl said yes I would love to come and live with you. Thank you very much I would like to have some one in the house with me in case that happens again but you are here to save me and you can defend me and you can stop people staying to curse me or anything that is not cool.
So then that lived happily ever after living in an clock tower and getting cursed

Six

There was a boy called Six. Six lived in a little village. His family were the only people who lived in the village,  he has not seen anyone else except from his family. He was pretty lonely.

For the past six days he had been eating junk food such as six lollies on the first day. He drank six sodas on the second day. He ate six cookies on the third day and he drunk six cokes and ate six donuts on the next two days.

Six felt really sick and he threw up in the toilet. His tummy felt like it was getting ripped out by a gigantic bear that has really sharp claws.  In the toilet there were some letters saying ‘Do not eat junk food, you should only eat fruit or healthy food instead of eating just junk food’.

Six learnt a lesson about not having too much junk food, otherwise he will be very sick and it will not be very fun. He would have to stay home and run to the toilet.

Then Six ate healthy things so he did not get sick.  He started eating fruit and healthy things like kumara, carrot, cucumber and other healthy things.

                                          Our new bee hive

Last week my dad bought a bee hive so now we have got 30,000 bees in our back lawn.
There is a queen bee in the bee hive but I have not seen it yet.

All day long the bees bring nectar from different kinds of plants back to the bee hive to make honey. Every night when I go to bed I can hear the bees buzzing around to try and find plants and flowers to collect the nectar from. The bees are really busy at this time of the year because they have to prepare themselves for winter.

We have to make a bowl of sugar water every second day and put it in the bee hive for the bees to drink from.

Every time we want to check on the bees, put the sugar water in the bee hive or collect the honey, we have to wear special bee suits to protect us from bee stings. They also prevent bees from getting up your nose, your ears or into your mouth. That can be very  dangerous especially if you are allergic to bee stings.

Fishing

In the holiday I went to Thames for easter and we went fishing with my dad, Dom and Scott. We found a very good spot in the water. There were about 100 birds dipping there beak in the water and getting some massive fish that were jumping in and out of the warm sea. The biggest fish we caught was a kawiai and a lots of snapper. It was very hard beacause they were fighting fish and very strong at pulling. My rod all most snapped in to 2 pieces.

                         SOCCER

I love playing soccer. I play for Eastern Suburbs Soccer Club and I am part of a rep team. I have been part of a rep team for the past two years. My position is right wing or right attack. My teams high score is twenty nil. I think our high score this year could be 30-5.We have soccer matches at different places every Saturday morning.
I love scoring goals and supporting my awesome team. Soccer is a team sport so it is really important to work together my team mates  in order to be successful and score a goal. When you want to be a good soccer player you have to be able to think and react fast. You should also be good at running,be fit and regularly practice ball mastery to improve your skills.

One day i want to be like Neymar or Ronaldo. that;s why I have played hard at every match.

                                                        Clash of Clans

In clash of clans you have your own village and you have gold mines and all these other objects like town hall clan castle. you need to upgrade the town hall to get certain things like the cloud balloons. The highest town hall you can have is town hall 10, town hall 11 is coming out soon. When you have trained troops you can attack other peoples villages and you get dark elixir. If you are at a certain town hall you can also get gold and normal elixir but you don't have to be a certain town hall to get gold and elixir when you attack. You also have gems you can get gems by finishing missions and from objects.

Something fun I did in the holidays

When I went to Thames we went fishing and we found a very special spot were there were thousands and thousands of birds ducking under the water and getting massive fish. I was on the boat with my Dad and my neighbour and his son Dom. we saw a lot of kaihawai  jumping in and out of the water the water was so clear that we could almost see the bottom of the sea.I caught a humongous kaihawai. I thought they would be a bit smaller than the massive one I caught. In total over the long weekend we would have caught and  kept 9 Kaihawai and 11 Snapper.

Room 6's Blog

Here is the link for the blog I found on the Internet and which I would like to share with you:

 http://www.roomkowhai.blogspot.co.nz/

This is Room 6's (also called Room Kowhai) Blog from the East Gore School in Gore on the south island of New Zealand.

On their blog the students of Room Kowhai talk about their class trips, special events at their school, different class projects and they even present their homework tasks.

They use many pictures to show us what they do at school. You can find photos of their school concert in October or of their meeting with Gore's mayor Mr. Tracey Hicks and many more.

I like Room 6's blog because they put many details in their comments and use lots of pictures. The blog is really colorful and they used an appropriate background for their blog and put much effort into designing it.

They try to make it as interesting as possible and you can tell that they put much work into it.

                                              My most cherished memories

One of my most cherished memories is getting my new soccer boots. I my  new soccer boots in the weekend. I liked the color and the look of the boots and I like the color gold.

Another cherished memory is fishing with my Dad in Thames because I love boats as I love catching fish. After catching the fish I like eating the fish. The biggest fish I have caught was a 46 cm long kaihawai.
We normally catch many different fish such as kaihawai or snapper. I am looking forward to the next school holidays because we will go fishing again. I cannot wait to spend some more time on the water.

If I could go anywhere in the world I would go to Fiji.

Image result for snorkingI would like to go to Fiji because they have really cool banana boat rides and you can also go right around the hole island while being towed by a 350 horse powered boat.  You can also pay to go para-sailing when you go para sailing you can see the hole island because you are so high.

The water is very clear and is very good for snorkeling. The weather is always hot and never rainy.

The only thing i don't like  is that there is sea snakes and sea
 slugs.     Taylor
                                                                Dear Miss Cooper,

Next term I would really like to play soccer games and 5 a side games. There would be one team of 4 and 5 groups of 5. I would like to play soccer because it is one of my favourite sports and I train 4 days a week. I think it would help the whole class to stay fit and spending time outside the classroom doing sports is really healthy and good for everyone.
It would also improve our sportsmanship skills  and our communication skills because soccer is a team sport and we as a class would have to work together in order to be successful and score a goal.

Sports

Athletics is a good sport for boys that like cross country, discus and thinks that every sport is fun.  Other great sports like hockey and ice hockey are also fun. They are the same game, one is just played on ice.

Keeping fit is a very important thing even for unusual sports like lacrosse and motor cross.

Team sports like netball are one of the most popular sports.  Players have to be quick like in rugby and soccer.  Team sports like these wear uniforms to identify the different clubs.

Some sports are in or around the water like Beach volleyball and windsurfing.  The exciting water sport of yachting has made New Zealand famous.
